Welcome to my updated massage website. The past year has brought some refreshing changes to my practice. I am pleased to add Tui Na, Acupressure and Acu-Oil to my massage menu!
Tui Na is a form of chinese sports massage. It involves brushing, kneading, pressing, and rubbing the areas between each of the joints, known as the eight gates, to attempt to open the body’s defenses and get the energy moving in the meridians and the muscles. Range of motion, traction, and massage are combined with the stimulation of key acupressure points. These techniques aid in the treatment of both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, as well as assisting in regulating emotions and calming the mind.
Acupressure is a way if clearing blockages in organ meridians which involves pressure being applied to trigger points. Light or heavy pressure may be applied by hand, by elbow, or other devices such as sport balls and essential oils.
Combining potent essential oils with certain meridian points is called Acu-Oil Therapy. Placing just one drop of a green moving oil such as Roman Chamomile 5 finger widths above the navel can facilitate movement in the large intestine and the stomach in a matter of seconds.
I am looking forward to working with you in my new studio space in downtown Santa Rosa with an ever expanding massage menu. Come visit me from now until the end of 2013 and receive an additional 15 minute acu-oil treatment!
